Effective Date: July 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information HAPS collects — from you and, where applicable, about the family member you're protecting — how we use and share it, and the rights available to you. Questions at any time: haps.helpsupport@gmail.com.
HAPS ("HAPS," "we," "us," or "our") provides a call-screening service that helps families protect an aging parent or relative from unwanted, unknown, and potentially fraudulent phone calls (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through haps.help, app.haps.help, and the related dashboard and phone-screening features (collectively, also the "Service"), how we use and share it, and the choices available to you. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information described here.
We use the information above to:
We do not use call content, voicemail recordings, or protected-line information to serve targeted advertising, and we do not sell this information to data brokers or advertisers.
HAPS never records or listens to live, connected phone conversations — not yours, and not your protected parent's. The only audio HAPS records is a voicemail left by an unrecognized caller who was routed away from the protected line. Before recording begins, the caller hears a spoken disclosure that their message may be recorded, consistent with all-party notice and consent requirements in states including California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Washington. You can review and delete voicemails from your family admin dashboard at any time.
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as necessary to provide the Service. Voicemail recordings are retained for up to 90 days from the date recorded, unless you delete them sooner, after which they are automatically and permanently deleted. Call metadata is retained for as long as needed to provide your call log and for a reasonable period afterward for security and fraud-prevention purposes. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including:
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, email haps.helpsupport@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
California residents additionally have the right to know the categories and sources of personal information we've collected and why; to know whether we sell or share personal information (we do not); to request deletion or correction of personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because HAPS does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, no "Do Not Sell or Share" mechanism is required at this time.
The Service is intended for adults 18 years of age or older who are setting up call protection for a family member. HAPS is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The protected line is configured by the paying adult customer, not by a child.
The Service may link to third-party sites, such as our payment processor's checkout page. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites and encourage you to review their policies directly.
HAPS is designed for and operated from the United States, and our infrastructure and personnel are located here. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from your jurisdiction.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the Effective Date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
